Olde City Day School is a dedicated community of caregivers and educators with more than 75 years of combined experience. They have three locations throughout the Philadelphia area.

Challenges:

Olde City wanted to improve the health and safety of their facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic by routinely testing their kids and employees, but didn't have the means to hire a full-time in-house provider.

  • With three separate locations, the cost to hire a full-time RN would cost roughly $200,000 (glassdoor).
  • The inability to afford a full-time provider for their facilities meant that they would have to do the testing in-house and manage any supplies, which would add an unfeasible amount of work to their administrative team.

Olde City offered employees a supplemental health insurance offering, but the majority of employees chose to opt out—leaving 80% of its employees uninsured.

Employees of Olde City are required to complete a pre-employment health screening. 

  • Olde City employees had to complete these by visiting and scheduling appointments with primary care locations with the national average wait times taking 21 days just to get an appointment, which delayed onboarding times for new hires.
